Development, approaches and potentials of critical geography - Lecture and discussion with Bernd Belina

Nov 20, 2018

Inspired by anglophone radical and critical geography, various approaches to critical geography have spread and established themselves in Germany over the last decade. Marxist, poststructuralist, feminist and postcolonial approaches are used as theoretical tools to analyze various issues ranging from migration and global inequality, to gender relations or environmeltal justice, to urban development.

Starting with the question of what is actually critical about critical geography, Bernd Belina ist going to present various approaches and the conflicts of content associated with them. These approaches will then be discussed from a critical perspective using the example of the rise of the (new) Right.
